Because with you its always different!

I was not even 18. We were introduced to each other through a common friend while going for a friend’s birthday party. You had come to drop her for the same party. You looked dashing in black and something about you made me feel different. I must admit that I was kind of jealous that you were with my friend. After you left, I could not help but turn back twice to take a look at you. Something like what happened between Kajol and Shahrukh in DDLJ when they part their ways after their Europe trip.

I had never felt like this before. I remember that knotty feeling in my stomach. You know the butterflies’ kind thing. I knew this feeling was something different. I remember I could not sleep that night. After that day, we often came across each other and although you were always with my friend, I could not resist noticing you.

Remember the night of our college fest? I was not finding an auto to go home and you, like a gentleman, dropped me home. That was impressive huh! I cannot forget that night. It was cold and the light winter breeze tickled my face. I felt amazing sitting behind you and kept grinning like a fool. You dropped me home; I turned and saw you one more time and went into my room with a big smile on my face. The next morning to my surprise, you were right there at my door step waiting to pick me for college. You looked handsome. Was it love or a crush? Well I did have a boyfriend then.
I remember the day when I had my first heart break and you were the one to give me a shoulder to cry like a buddy. That day I knew, with you it was different. I knew this was not right since you already had a girlfriend. But slowly I realized that I was making excuses and looking for reasons to sneak out for long rides, parties and shopping with you. My friend started noticing this but for some reason she was quite. With you I always felt different. We had to hide our love from the world because my age did not permit us to be open about this relationship or take it further. But I knew you were the one I wanted to spend my life with no matter what.

Then came the day when my mother caught us together in the market and was not very happy about it. She did like you but felt in secured for me because of my age. My mom obviously shared the incident with my dad and him, being the curious and protective parent decided to meet you, after I convinced him. I was nervous, but you were not. I cannot forget the day when my Dad and I came to meet you near camp area, close to Honda showroom in Belgaum, our home town. While sitting in the famous Kaveri hotel sipping his favorite filter coffee, he met you for the first time and your charming and enticing personality instantly impressed him and somewhere you made him realize that I will always be secured, independent and happy with you. What more could a father ask for his daughter? As soon as I turned 19, we officially started our journey of life together.

After marriage, due to work commitments we had to stay in separate cities for few months. I never liked staying away from you. We decided that you shift with me to Bangalore and that day onward I have never stayed away from you, except when I go to my mom’s place. We have always been that amazing Jodi which our friends envy. Kids have slowed us down but they have definitely made their space rightly between us. We had some bitter days with each other, but we have always tolerated each other in our good and bad moods. When we are together, you are you and I am me. I do crib about you sometimes, but never once have you asked me to change. You have always boosted my self- confidence. You have always encouraged me to be independent. With you around, I can conquer the most difficult journey of life. Life without you will be like an empty road ahead. You make us complete.

I am blessed to have you in my life. My husband’s envy, my pride -My dear Activa, my bike, you are my first love and with you it’s different!!
